Summer and Fall 2010
Summer for me has always been one of doing things differently than at other times of the year. I guess it’s because I want to take advantage of the warm weather when we have it. So as a family, we intentionally spend a lot more time doing things outside, like visiting parks, working on the garden, camping up north and having picnics.
This summer, things at Faith Church have been a little out of the ordinary as well. For the first time in many years, when the weather permitted, we had the Sunday morning worship service outside. This outdoor format provided our congregation with a casual setting to worship the Lord and it was great to be right in the beauty of his Creation. Just being able to see his handiwork was awe-inspiring.
Also, in the summer we had our first Hot Dogs, Big Bikes and Cool Cars event. On that sunny Saturday, over 20 different vehicles came on-site and showed off their stuff. It was a lot of fun to see people’s means of transportation that were either classic or collectable. Click here to see the pics.
In the month of July, the church amped things up a bit by doing 2 special activities. Early in the month, many of the members walked in the Robbinsdale Whiz Bang Parade. It was really great to be able to meet the people in our community. Later on, in the month of July, we had our annual Church Carnival. Like last year, we had food, inflatables, games and prizes. With the great weather, numerous people came out and enjoyed the activities. To me it was truly one of the year’s highlights. In fact, I can’t wait for next year’s carnival.
This fall promises to be just as remarkable. Beginning on Sunday, September 19th at 6pm, we will resumed our Family Fun Nights. Family Fun Nights at Faith Church is a time where families get together to do fun activities and talk about a subject or issue from a Biblical worldview. We will be kicked our event off with a family friendly movie on our giant projection screen. Although I cannot give details, this high quality media production with a football-themed story, promises to touch all ages.
As always, thanks for checking out Faith Church. Contact us if you have any questions. I look forward to meeting you!
Sincerely,
Pastor Tom Olson |
